Crowns
A crown is a cap in the shape of a tooth / molar
which is fixed over a buffed tooth / tooth (pillar).
When a crown?

If the tooth / molar has broken off.

If there is too little tooth / molar to place a filling.

To improve "the bite".

For aesthetic reasons [crooked, discolored teeth].
Bridges
A bridge is created if there are one or more missing teeth / molars. A bridge consists of two or more crowns with a bridge section [3 crowns] in between.
When a bridge?

By replacing the missing teeth chewing becomes better.

To prevent skewed growth of the teeth and no "holes" wil be visible in the mouth.
The most used crown is made of metal with porcelain. However, it is also possible to have Zirconium [oxide, a material from space], made crowns.
Why Zirconium?

Zirconium is 100% biocompatible, the body does not reject it. It is light weight and "light-permeable" and is the most beautiful crown available at the moment.
